Fully certified to all industry standards

ISO 9001 & ISO 14001

To secure the quality level and consistency of its research, development and production, all XPS sites are ISO 9001 certified. As one of the few in its industry, XPS is also ISO 14001 certified, showing our commitment to a sustainable future while meeting the highest environmental standards. As one of the few in its industry, XPS has the ISO 14001 (2008 updated) certificate. This is to ensure the highest possible environmental standards.

DIN 33870

The DIN 33870 is a standard for the composition, storage, labeling and packaging of toner cartridges and toner. All XPS cartridges are remanufactured according to the DIN 33870 standard. In fact we go even further.

Nordic Swan

Specification of the Nordic Swan:
• Less waste and lower consumption of energy and raw materials. Using cartridges several times reduces total consumption and accordingly the environmental impact.
• The criteria aim to reduce waste but also place requirements on quality, quality assurance of the recycling process, content of environmentally hazardous and harmful substances.
What was tested
• Conformity to local official requirements concerning outdoor and indoor environment.
• Re-use of more than 75% of materials.
• Existing recycling system.
• Same quality as original product.
• Successful testing according to ASTMF 1531 or DIN33751 and guarantee of the module’s high yield.
• Environmentally friendly waste disposal.
• No harmful substances in the packaging.
• Clear declaration of products on labeling and installation instruction inside the package.

STMC

Standardized Test Methods Committee. This global committee formed to find and promote standardized test methods for the OEM-compatible and the remanufactured printer cartridge industry. These standards, which incorporate methodologies from ISO, ISTA, ASTM, and ANSI, define performance specifications that make aftermarket printer cartridge quality equivalent to—and in some cases better than—OEM products. Purchasing toner cartridges from a STMC-certified manufacturer is a consumer’s best indication of superior performance, reliability, and quality.

ASTM F 1531-94; Standard test method for comparing printer or copier cartridges
Standardized methods implemented for:

  • The condition and appearance of cartridges
  • Internal instructions and packaging
  • Inspection methods for determining the condition of component parts
  • Operation and print quality evaluation
  • Reliability of products
ASTM F 1856-98: Standard practice for determining toner usage for printer cartridges
XPS implemented the standard procedure to determine the weight of toner used for printing a single page, according to 5% area coverage. All cartridges for life-test undergo the procedure according to ASTM standard F 1856-98.

D 5276-98: Standard test method for drop test of loaded containers by free fall
This test method is intended to use in evaluating the capability of packaging to withstand the sudden shock resulting from a free fall, and if afterwards its contents offered enough protection for the product inside. Packaging for all XPS cartridges is tested according to the ASTM standard D 5276-98.

ETIRA

XPS is a qualified member of the European Toner & Inkjet Remanufacturers Association (ETIRA). As a licensed member of ETIRA, we are qualified to use the prestigious ‘ticked-R’ collective mark. This is only awarded to companies who guarantee a high quality, competitive and environmentally friendly product and service.

Ames Test

The Ames Test is a bacterial method of testing substances for mutagenic characteristics, i.e. whether they can produce harmful changes and pose a risk to human health. All materials in XPS cartridges undergo AMES testing, and all our cartridges are certified safe for use.
